Paws Across the River – When you visit the Ashland’s downtown arts district during the Spring/Summer 2007 you’ll undoubtedly notice numerous dogs and cats gracing our sidewalks.  No, they haven’t escaped their homes.  These animals are statues that have been donated by sponsors (who pay $1,000-$5,000 per animal) and decorated by local artists.  The animals will be on display from April to September of 2007.  At the end of that period, many of the works of art will be auctioned off to benefit the Arts Council of Northern Kentucky and the Pet Betterment Fund.
